Necrobiosis lipoidica – Actual etiopathogenic and therapeutic aspects
Necrobiosis lipoidica is a chronic granulomatous disorder of the dermis and subcutaneous tissue whose etiopathogeny is yet unknown.

Recent data suggest the etiopathogenic involvement of the infectious factor (Borrelia) and invalidate the theory regarding the microvascular ischemic origin of skin lesions. Based on presumed pathogenic mechanisms, various therapies have been tested in time, some with arguable results, others trully potential.
